Let’s talk about Angela – the ultimate #HouseHacker. I helped Angela three years ago almost to the day (2/17/21) buy her first home in Northeast Portland. It was a two bedroom 1 bath home with a space in the back with a kitchenette that was at the time being used as an office space. As with most first-time homebuyers, we were operating on a limited budget so the options were somewhat limited. We seized the opportunity to take advantage of the listing agent’s crappy marketing and days on market and landed it for her. She has since converted it to two legal living spaces and rented out the portions that she doesn’t need for herself.
The rules of House hacking are written for and maybe even by Angela with her boundless determination and savvy mindset. If you’re early enough in the game and looking to build wealth through property, this playbook is one you’ll want to bookmark.
So, what’s her secret sauce? Angela’s strategy is refreshingly simple: snag a home with two livable spaces, call one home sweet home, and rent out the other. It’s like having your cake and eating it too – she gets to live in her cozy corner while the rent from the other space chips away at her mortgage, building equity like a boss.
But here’s where Angela takes it up a notch – she’s not stopping with one property. Oh no, she’s doubled down and now owns two homes with a total of four living spaces. It’s like watching a master painter create a masterpiece, one stroke at a time.
Her latest conquest? A stunning craftsman home in a super desirable location that’s as much a statement of her success as it is a cozy retreat. With each investment, Angela isn’t just buying a property; she’s creating a roof over multiple households including her own, while setting the path to financial freedom.
This story isn’t just about numbers and properties; it’s about grit, determination, and the willingness to think outside the box. Angela is living proof that with a little hustle and a lot of heart, anyone can turn real estate into a ticket to prosperity.
As Angela continues to chart her course, I’m rooting for her every step of the way. Here’s to the ultimate house hacker, carving her own path to success, one property at a time. Cheers to Angela – may her journey inspire us all to dream bigger and aim higher in our pursuit of shelter, wealth and happiness. You are another big reason that I love what I do!
